The position will offer a diverse professional experience including screening, evaluation, treatment, and consultation for youth with behavioral, emotional, and developmental disabilities, ages 5 to 20. Spurwink provides special education programming for students based on an academic year, as well as a 28-day summer component. Maine state licensure fees and ASHA dues paid, and administrative supervision provided. Master's degree in Communication Disorders and Maine State License in Speech-Language Pathology required.

DUTIES: Evaluate and treat speech, language, voice, fluency and dysphagia within a multidisciplinary treatment team. Provide consultation, direct instruction and modeling both in and out of the classroom to develop a total language/communication environment. Supervise assigned speech pathology interns and assistants when applicable. Provide in-service education and/or consultation to clinical and educational personnel concerning communication intervention strategies. 

Qualifications Master's degree in Communication Disorders and Maine State License in Speech-Language Pathology required; CCC able to supervise SLP-As.

Gallant Therapy Services

Gallant Therapy Services is looking to hire a motivated Speech Language Pathologist to work out of our pediatric outpatient clinic in Augusta, Waterville OR Lewiston (candidate can pick location based on individual needs). As an SLP, you will be tasked with providing quality care and family education. This position would entail direct 1:1 treatment as well as group sessions in the therapy clinic, performing weekly evaluations, and treating/evaluating children in local preschool programs.

Position can be part time OR full time based on individuals needsAmount of hours per week, as well as start time and end time, can be extremely flexible. Gallant Therapy Services is looking to fill the position immediately.

You must be fully licensed in the state of Maine. Pediatric experience of 1 year is preferred but not required.

Pine Tree Society is seeking a full-time Speech Language Pathologist. We are looking for creative, enthusiastic clinicians who are able to engage children and adults to help transform their lives through better communication.

As one of the state’s leading assistive technology providers with multiple on-site demo and loan centers, you will have a unique opportunity to gain expertise in the areas of AAC and AT.

Our specialized team provides enthusiastic expertise in the following areas:

  • Speech and language assessments
  • On-going speech/language therapy and intervention
  • Social language/social pragmatic group sessions
  • Assistive Technology assessments (including assistive technology for learning and augmentative and alternative communication)
  • Assistive Technology consultations and support (including training, programming and implementation)
  • Assistive Technology professional development workshops

 

Qualifications; knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Knowledge of a variety of speech and language delays and disorders, AAC systems, vendors and products including search strategies for locating specific systems and methods to access these systems.
  • Ability to use standardized, modified and criterion-referenced assessment procedures and techniques to identify a communicative need. Ability to document findings and recommendations in comprehensive written evaluation reports.
  • Ability to identify goals and objectives, AAC systems and/or strategies and procedures that will meet identified needs as well as the short- and long-term outcomes hoped for, point out a variety of options when necessary and guide a team through the choices.
  • Communication skills necessary to respond to questions and to clearly explain, the options, research and theories behind speech and language recommendations, or AAC use to clients, families, caregivers, service providers and others involved in supporting a client.
  • Ability to respond to questions and teach computer-based common and special needs systems in a clear, comfortable and non-threatening manner.
  • Ability to organize time effectively and remain flexible in order to meet occasionally competing demands also requiring time and attention.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • State of Maine Speech-Language Pathologist license
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency
